Policy Limits and Database Capacity
Commission Tracker has no hard limit on the number of policies you can enter. The system is designed to scale with your business, whether you have 1,000 policies or 1,000,000.
Performance at Scale
While there is no limit to the quantity of data, managing a large database is most efficient when using the built-in organizational tools.
- Advanced search — Use filters (Carrier, Client, or Effective Date) rather than scrolling through the full policy grid.
- Archiving — Marking old, expired policies as Inactive keeps your active reporting clean without deleting historical records.
- Bulk updates — Use Update All Policies to make mass changes to thousands of records at once rather than editing them individually.
Database Health Tips
The quality of your data affects system performance more than the quantity.
| Recommendation | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Avoid duplicates | Ensures your Agent Commissions Earned reports are accurate. |
| Use standard naming | Makes searching for clients faster across large datasets. |
| Regular audits | Helps identify placeholder or Prospect policies that need updating. |
🔧 Troubleshooting
The policy grid is loading slowly. Apply a Date Filter or Carrier Filter to narrow the view. Loading the full grid with no filters across a very large database will be slower than a filtered view. Use search and filters as your primary navigation method.
Adding more policies will increase my cost. No — Commission Tracker pricing is based on the number of Users, not the volume of policies. You can add as many policies as your agency requires without affecting your subscription cost.
I am planning a massive data migration (50,000+ policies). Contact support before starting — the technical team can advise on the most efficient migration approach and help ensure your data maps correctly.
