Edit Policies
The Edit Policies screen is used to finalize policy details before they are committed to your database. Whether you are performing a bulk update on a group of policies or manually entering missing data for a single record, this interface ensures your data is complete and accurate.
Accessing the Editor
There are two primary ways to access the Edit Policies screen from the Create Policies grid:
- Individual Edit: Double-click any single row in the upper grid.
- Bulk Edit: Select multiple rows (using
CTRL+ClickorSHIFT+Click) and click the Edit Policies (F2) button in the toolbar.
Example: To set 10 policies to the "Dental" Policy Type simultaneously, select all 10 rows, click Edit Policies, choose "Dental" from the dropdown, and click Save.
Managing Data Fields
All fields mapped during the Mapping Data phase will be pre-populated. To fill in missing data or override existing values:
- Type-to-Search: Begin typing in any dropdown field. The system will suggest existing matches.
- Create New: If you type a value that does not exist, the field will be highlighted in Green. This indicates a new record (Carrier, Agent, etc.) will be created once the policy is finalized.
- Dropdown Selection: Click the arrow to browse the full list of available system values.
Toolbar Navigation
The toolbar is designed to help you move quickly through a large batch of pending policies.

| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Save | Saves changes and returns you to the main policy grid. |
| Save Next | Commits changes to the current record and immediately opens the next policy in your selection. |
| Next | Skips the current policy without saving and moves to the next record. |
| Errors | Runs a validation check to highlight any required fields that are still missing data. |
| Help | Opens the documentation for this specific screen. |
Important Rules & Tips
- Mapping Protection: Policy fields that were automatically mapped by the system logic are locked to preserve data integrity and cannot be edited manually.
- Carrier Tables: If you create a new Carrier Table through this screen, you must also select a Carrier Table Type to define the commission structure.
- The Reset Button: Use caution with the "Reset" button on the upper grid; clicking this will clear all manual edits you have made during the current session.
- Green Highlights: Remember that "Green" values are temporary; they are only added to your permanent system lists (Tools/Tables) once the policy is officially created.
Troubleshooting
Q: I bulk-edited 50 policies but the change didn't stick. What happened? A: Ensure you clicked Save or Save Next. If you simply navigated away using the "Next" button, your changes were discarded.
