Annual Commission by Client
The Annual Commission by Client report provides a 12-month financial overview of the revenue generated by each client. By itemizing payments into Commission, Bonus, and Override categories, it lets you identify your most valuable clients and monitor their revenue consistency throughout the calendar year.
π‘ Why Use This
Use this report when:
- Identifying key accounts β Quickly see which clients are driving the highest annual revenue for your agency.
- Monitoring revenue stability β Spot gaps in monthly payments that may indicate a missed carrier statement or a policy lapse.
- Auditing revenue types β View a specific breakdown of standard commissions versus supplemental bonuses or overrides earned per client.
- Analyzing retention β Evaluate the long-term value of a client relationship over a full 12-month cycle.
πΊοΈ How to Access
- Navigate to Reports β Client β Annual Commission by Client.
- Use the Year filter to select the 12-month period you want to analyze.
- Click View Report.

Report Layout
The report displays a horizontal 12-month grid for every policy associated with each client.
| Section | Description |
|---|---|
| Client Name / Policy # / Type | Lists the Client, the specific Policy Number, and the Line of Business (e.g., Health, Dental). |
| Jan β Dec Columns | Displays revenue received each month. Each month is divided into three rows: Commission, Bonus, and Override. |
| Totals | Provides the annual sum for each of the three revenue types, followed by a grand total for the policy. |

Interacting with the Results
- Client summaries β If a client has multiple policies (e.g., Medical and Life), each policy is listed individually under the client's name, giving a complete wallet-share view of that account.
- Payment itemization β You can distinguish between base commissions and any one-time bonuses or overrides received from the carrier for that client.

π§ Troubleshooting
A client shows $0 for certain months. No payments were posted for that client during those months. Possible causes include a carrier delay, a missed statement import, or a policy that was not yet effective for those months. Check the Agency Payments Received report for the same period to confirm whether a statement was imported.
I need to see what was paid to agents, not just what the agency received. This report shows agency revenue only β the gross commission paid by carriers before agent splits. To see agent-specific payouts, use the Agent Commissions Earned Report.
I want to see the same data grouped by carrier instead of client. Use the Commissions by Carrier report.
